About TELYK

TELYK was founded by Kyle Twitchell in September 2018. TELYK is a structural engineering firm that is headquartered in Brooklyn, NY. We pursue projects where we can apply our structural expertise to all facets of your project, whether this is structural design, façade consulting, special inspections, construction administration, forensic analysis, adjacent property representation, and Contractor support. Since our founding, TELYK has taken the value stance of approaching all projects as an architectural engineer. Working with all the stake holders on the project to collaboratively aim towards a finished project that everyone can be proud of. Above all else, we also keep in mind that the structures, buildings, homes and spaces, created through our work play a deep/impactful role in people’s lives.

 New Construction accounts for 60% of our entire workload. The other 40% is focused on renovations and retrofits to existing buildings. TELYK’s founder has past experience in the following types of work:

  • Residential – Extensive experience with single family residences, from brownstone renovations, new wood structures to high-end residences. Multi-family residences for developers and affordable housing.

  • Institutional work - elementary, secondary, university, religious and community facilities of all kinds.

  • Government – From Federal, State and City, down to local municipalities, working on office buildings, logistics facilities, firehouse, police stations, courthouses and libraries.

  • Embassy – Foreign embassy’s for both the US and other Nations.

  • Healthcare – New construction of facilities, both in-patient and out-patient, surgery centers, ambulatory, and laboratories. In addition, providing design services for MEP modernizations, retrofits and facility maintenance, support of medical shielding required by cancer centers and radiology equipment.

  • Façade and Building Envelope – Design of new facades (glass, stone and brick) and evaluation of existing conditions to provide repairs.

  • Commercial – Mixed use facilities, retail stores, banks, and restaurants. Whether it be a white box fit out for the new tenant, to reviewing tenant proposal’s to the landlord.

KYLE TWITCHELL, PE

Developing a passion for design, architecture and engineering Kyle has always wanted to explore and collaborate with others to create spaces that individual’s and communities want to visit. Kyle takes joy in tackling both difficult and simple engineering problems as part of the process of creating these spaces. Through his career of 15+ years, he has led the analysis and design of a variety of projects that has created a depth and breath of experience. Projects have ranged from art installations; seismic retrofits; research facilities; medical and healthcare facilities; higher education; government and infrastructure development; high end single family residential and multi-family residential; commercial developments and tenant improvements; and façade design. This diverse level of experience on ranging from simple to complicated or from large to small has provided him with the ability to work collaboratively with design teams, clients, contractors and end users with positive outcomes.
